TANK VENT VALVES

Applications
Motorsport
Our two-ball tank vent valves are designed primarily for motor sport applications, in environments where they will be subjected to violent movement.
- The In-Line valves are designed for use on cars. They are not attached directly to the fuel tank but are connected using a suitable hose.
- The Small Tank Valves are designed for use on motorcycle fuel tanks.
- The Big Tank Valves are suitable for use on cars up to and above F1.
General Use
Our TPV6 and TPV8 In-Line valves are suitable for use in more general applications, such as everyday automotive use and fuel injection engines.
Workings
Two Ball Valves
They are unique, featuring both a hollow plastic ball and a stainless steel ball. Essentially, allowing the tank to vent and preventing fuel from escaping if the vehicle inverts in a crash. A Tank Vent Valve should allow air to enter the tank to replace the volume of fuel volume exiting the tank without allowing fuel to be lost through the vent system. In our design, should any fuel enter the valve, the hollow plastic ball will float on the fuel and seal the valve, stopping any fuel from escaping through the vent system.
Spring Valves
Responding to concerns about the escape of hydrocarbons into the atmosphere we have developed a new generation of vent valves that use carefully calibrated springs to control a two way valve. This system is used on the TPV6 and the TPV8 In-Line valves. The benefits are that valve is shut when the engine is switched off so there is no trace of fuel smells in the garage. The valve will open to allow air into the tank to replace the volume of fuel that has been consumed. The valve will also open should any excessive pressure build up in the tank. This function safeguards the fuel system.
